An exciting opportunity is available to work on a new programme in Wales: Discover! Creative Careers, Cymru/Canfod Gyrfaoedd Creadigol. 

With increased investment from the Department for Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS), the 2025 - 2026 programme features several significant developments including an expansion into two UK nations, widening its reach, and connecting even more young people with opportunities to engage with careers events across all creative industry sub-sectors. 

Department: Activation: Cymru/Wales 

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday 

Salary: £40,000 pro-rata, plus Into Film benefits 

Term: Fixed term, immediately available through to 31st March 2026 

Location: Wales (hybrid) with travel to Cardiff/Wales-wide as required 

Reports to: Programme Lead, Into Film Cymru 

All Into Film staff work in a hybrid working pattern, combining home working with attendance at local and national meetings as necessary. This role’s local office is within Chapter Arts Centre in Cardiff; some travel across Wales and potentially across the UK may be required.

Into Film is the UK’s leading charity for film in education and the community. We provide screen industry careers information and advice, support young filmmakers, and bring the power of moving image storytelling into classroom teaching.

About Discover Creative Careers, Cymru 

Discover! Creative Careers is a government funded, industry-led programme working to ensure there is a larger and more diverse intake of talent into the creative industries via a broader range of routes. The free to access hybrid programme of activities and resources offers meaningful encounters with industry professionals, online tools, training, and support throughout the year. 

Discover! Creative Careers, also known as the Creative Careers Programme, was kick-started with funding from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport in 2018 and has been shaped 

and supported directly by creative businesses, institutions, trade bodies and individuals. The delivery of the programme is led by ScreenSkills in partnership with over 25 organisations and through collaboration with industry, education, and careers professionals. 

Discover! Creative Creers, Cymru will provide careers information and employer encounters to young people aged 11-18 and those supporting their careers decisions, with the aim of building a more diverse and inclusive future workforce. The programme will run until the end of March 2026, and will involve working across partners and in collaboration with creative industries organisations across 12 sub-sectors across Wales. 

Role Summary 

The Project Manager will lead the successful delivery of Discover! Creative Careers, Cymru, ensuring that all activity is well-planned, inclusive, and meets agreed KPIs. 

You’ll line-manage the Project Coordinator, oversee partnerships with schools and delivery organisations, and act as the main point of contact with the UK-wide Discover! team. Working closely with Into Film Cymru's Programme Lead, this role ensures that the project runs to time, budget and delivers insightful and Inspiring events to young people and schools effectively and efficiently, and that evaluation and reporting is robust. 

This is a dynamic and fast-paced role ideal for someone experienced in managing education or youth-facing programmes with multiple partners and funders. This role requires excellent organisational skills, strong bilingual (Welsh/English) communication, and a commitment to inclusive practice. 

Main Responsibilities: 

• Lead on the planning, delivery and oversight of the Discover! Creative Careers, Cymru project. 

• Manage the work of the Project Coordinator, ensuring smooth operational delivery across multiple schools and regions. 

• Work closely with the Into Film Cymru Programme Lead, Into Film Discover! Creative Careers project staff, Into Film staff across departments, and UK Discover! Creative Careers Project Director to align local delivery with national strategy, communications, and evaluation plans. 

• Ensure all project activity meets KPIs, timelines, and funder requirements, including engagement targets, diversity of reach, and quality of delivery. 

• Establish and maintain relationships with key project partners, including schools, delivery organisations and creative industry stakeholders. 

• Oversee safeguarding, accessibility and inclusion practices across all activities, with support from partner organisations and Into Film’s team. 

• Support the development and implementation of risk management plans and delivery protocols. 

• Work with colleagues to develop communications and content that promote the project and share its impact. 

• Lead on project monitoring and evaluation, working with the UK team to report progress and outcomes to funders. 

• Organise and lead project national stakeholder meetings - working with national and regional creative industry and education partners. 

• Provide regular updates and progress reports to the Into Film Cymru Programme Lead and UK Delivery Team. 

• Any other reasonable duties assigned by Into Film. 

General Responsibilities: 

• Commitment to quality internally and in all dealings with Into Film’s stakeholders including teachers, children and young people, industry partners, funders, supporters, parents and carers, and members of the public. 

• Commitment and active participation in helping Into Film live its EEDI values and ethos through everything it does. 

• Contribute to long term planning to ensure growth in line with demand and resources. 

• Contribute to the regular monitoring and evaluation of Into Film’s work. 

Person Specification: 

Minimum Requirements: 

• Significant experience of managing large-scale education and/or youth projects involving multiple partners and delivery teams. 

• Strong project management and communication skills in both Welsh and English — including planning, delegation, budget oversight, and delivery against targets. 

• Experience of line-managing staff or coordinating multi-disciplinary teams. 

• Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to balance strategic oversight and operational detail. 

• Familiarity with the education landscape in Wales and/or experience delivering in-school or youth-facing programmes. 

• Familiarity with the creative industries in Wales and the opportunities and challenges organisations and companies face. 

• An understanding of the careers landscape in Wales and the CWRE and CWW frameworks. 

• Strong understanding of safeguarding, access and inclusion in education or youth settings. 

• Confidence using CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce), project tracking tools, and standard office software. 

• Proven ability to engage with funders, partners and stakeholders in a professional and collaborative manner. 

• Ability to travel independently across Wales and occasionally to other UK locations. Full, clean UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential. 

Desirable: 

• Experience delivering projects funded by public or lottery bodies, with an understanding of compliance and reporting. 

• Monitoring and evaluation expertise, including both qualitative and quantitative reporting. 

• Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite 

• An appreciation for, and knowledge of, film and creative learning. 

 

All employees regularly working with children and member data are required to undertake and maintain enhanced DBS clearance, acquired at Into Film’s expense; employment is dependent upon this.
