Join us for a fascinating interview exploring Roald Dahl's lifelong fascination with medical science. Professor Damian Walford Davies, Head of Cardiff University's School of English, Communication and Philosophy discusses Roald Dahl and his work with Tom Solomon, Professor of Neurology at Liverpool University, who cared for Roald Dahl during his final months in Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital.

Given the medical traumas that affected Dahl’s family, his fascination with the subject had the force of a personal campaign. Drawing on his privileged night hospital discussions with Dahl, Professor Solomon, will be reading from his new book 'Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Medicine' and will offer new insights into the author’s thinking as his life came to an end. The interview will explore the intriguing interaction between Dahl’s literary worlds and medical science.

This public interview is sponsored by Cardiff University’s Science Humanities Initiative as part of the Roald Dahl Centenary Conference organised by the School of English, Communication and Philosophy at Cardiff University. The event is produced in collaboration with Creative Cardiff.
